I always had a deep connection to nature for as long as I can remember. Studying sustainability in Edinburgh opened this door for me in a more grounded way — bringing the world of nature into focus through the lens of other sciences. Then I dived deeper into food waste when I realised that one of the most pressing environmental problems of our time is also one of the most solvable — with the right knowledge, mindset and the right systems.
Food connects everyone. There is no culture where food isn't the principal connector — everyone cares about food. Who grew it, what energy went into it. That is what makes this work so meaningful.
After 15 years studying and working in sustainability, and 10 years specialising in food loss and waste, I founded FLW360 to make rigorous, evidence-based FLW expertise accessible to the food businesses that need it most. I also believe we can make it fun!
My work combines a PhD in FLW Management with practical experience across the private sector — farms, processing, retail, food service — and as a household myself. This includes an investigation of food waste practices in Ibiza's hospitality sector, photojournalism project at a Swiss food waste management facility, volunteering at organic, regenrative farms and deep operational knowledge of ISO Standards, FSSC 22000 v.6 section on FLW, ESG reporting, and supply chain waste management.
